Development roadmap
The Forest has been in development for a while, but now we need your feedback to make it even better. Our vision for this game is a terrifying open world full of gameplay options and player freedom. We’ve come a long way but still have a lot of features and improvements to make.
Here’s a small sampling of what we hope to add to the game during alpha:
Many more animals – fish, snakes, frogs and bird types. We want to really bring the world to life with the variety of fauna.
More trapping and hunting options.
Expanded A.I. – We’re trying some really cool stuff for our AI, and plan to keep it evolving and improving over the alpha.
More areas to explore – over time new areas will be added and unlocked and our cave system will continue to develop downwards.
More buildable items – More options in what you can construct and what’s available to use.
More crafting options, more items combinable and more exciting things to create.
New creatures – as we unlock more and more of the world and caves over the course of the alpha we’ll also be introducing many new terrifying creatures along with a few surprises.
Visual improvements – we want to keep pushing what’s possible, making the world look, feel and run better.
Many UI tweaks and polish.
Additional game modes, including a no-enemies cheat mode for players who want a calmer experience.
Multiplayer – we find the idea of co-op play in this world really exciting and hope to implement a form of co-op into the experience.

Changes
Added multiple character slots – You can now save up to three simultaneous games at a time.
Added the options menu in both unlock screens and in game.
You can now quit the game from the unlock screens, as well as in the game.
Music fades in at the start of the game as to not be too jarring.
Meat Mouth’s agro has been lowered so he’s not as overpowered in the late game.
The Grimm Keeper’s Skull shot now aims to the cursor’s location instead of just straight ahead.
Bug Fixes
Darkseeds created from a corpse are now stronger than those that aren’t.
Punge summon audio errors are now played correctly.
The game will no longer get stuck on the “In Combat” message when you’ve completed a level.
All achievement bugs are fixed, and achievements should be working properly.
Ulta-High resolutions are now disallowed, and should not crash the game when starting up from a very high desktop resolution.
Resolution options should now lock to 4:3, 16:10 or 16:9.
Enemy units can no longer get stuck on the platform and exploited.
Many other tiny balance tweaks and bug fixes.
Still Left to Do
I’m aware some players are experiencing disconnect errors on mutliplayer games. I was unable to reproduce this locally, and will need more time to get it sorted out.
Alt-Tabbing during a multiplayer game should be working, but there is a chance it will still cause a disconnect.
I’ll be adding a health bar option to the game in case you prefer overhead health bars.
Changes to the camera control scheme are being worked on.
The Evil is undergoing a complete overhaul, and will offer many more options moving forward.

VoxelMap Mod 1.7.2 - Game2share.us
VoxelMap was originally Zan’s minimap, a rather famous minimap mod created by Zaneris. VoxelMap is an in-game minimap mod with a few nice features. It displays waypoints (per dimension, and per multiverse world if the server is running voxelPlugin). It also displays mob (and player) icons, with optional helmets and playernames. Waypoints can be edited or removed at any time, with an easy UI for picking their color. In SP (with commands enabled) or in MP with sufficient permissions, the user can teleport to any waypoint. Functions in the Nether. Has a handy cave mode. for underground exploration.
There are 2 versions:
- Standard version: please use Magic Launcher or MCPatcher.
- Forge version is optional, and is installed like any other Forge mod
